My fellow lady friends who read this will agree: Cooking daily, and constantly coming up with new and healthy meal ideas can be pretty tough. Plated Food Delivery: How Does It Work?
Well, first of all you don’t have to spend hours finding a recipe (we all know how often we are out of ideas and just end up making spaghetti with tomato sauce – again). Despite of some recipes that I get really excited about trying, I’m actually happy when I simply get a recipe suggestion. And I know my family will love it. Plus how often did I want to try a great recipe and then I was missing some key ingredients? The Plated top chefs take care of that for you.
You will get 5 different recipes each week to choose from. The recipes vary in their difficulty level and preparation time. Don’t worry you get all the information you need, including photos, ingredients and even calories! The recipes are interesting and usually greatly vary from each other. (I should mention, however, that most of the meals contain meat. So if you are a vegetarian you might have a hard time).
You simple chose your recipe in favor online and how many servings you need and that’s it!
Now to the interesting part! The food will be delivered right to your door, already perfectly measured and partly prepared. Pasta, vegetables, meat, herbs – whatever it might be! They come separately packed in sealed and labeled plastic bags. You might have to chop a few ingredients but that’s totally fine with me! Along with the ingredients they send you the recipe printed on a card with step by step instructions. And then all you have to do is to cook it! That’s it!

Is It Worth The Money?
I just popped the big question. Short answer – for me, yes.
But it totally depends on your monthly food budget and how often you want to get your dinner delivered. You can save a lot if you invest $10 in membership. Membership is not required, but offers you greater discounts. Let me break that down for you –
Without membership*:
- membership cost: $0
- Cost per Plate: $15
You can order whenever you want and whatever is on the menu.
With membership*:
- membership cost: $10
- Weekly Subscription: You order 4 plates/week for $12/plate ($192 a month)
That’s a saving of 20% ($3 per plate) with the weekly subscription.

So depending on how much you usually spend each month on food or how often you decide to order take away food anyways, it can be a great deal.
Who Is Plated For?
Plated is for everyone, if it fits your budget. Personally I feel it is especially a great deal for couples or working singles who want to eat healthy but don’t have enough time to go shopping or to cook in general. Plus if you spend a lot of money on take out food anyways, plated might be the better and healthier option. And if you invite a date or friends over, you don’t have to worry about dinner as much.
Plated is currently only available in the U.S. They are expanding, but are not available in all states. You can fill in your zip code on their website to check if they deliver in your area.
